Brief of the Executive Director

Mr. Md. Shafiqul Alam, a seasoned development professional, has been working as the Executive Director of this organization since 05 January 1996. He holds an M.Sc. with B.Sc. (honours) in Geography from the University of Dhaka. He has extensive experience in women empowerment, children development, HIV/AIDS prevention, promoting good governance & anti-corruption issues, and the overall management of national-level NGOs over the last 20 years.

Mr. Alam has hands-on experience in formulating administrative and financial rules & regulations, planning for managing development organizations, and providing input to design & devise development projects on various issues. He has the skills and experience to work as a partner with different government bodies, national and UN bodies, bi-lateral and other international donors, and to maintain liaison with these organizations.

The Executive Director can work independently with minimum supervision, has the ability to work in a team, and shows the highest level of flexibility and adaptability. He has excellent analytical and interpretation skills and the ability to work in a multicultural environment, establishing harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization.

Mr. Alam is highly skilled in negotiation, communication and advocacy, with proven leadership capability and the ability to organize, lead and manage teams comprising multidimensional professionals. During his tenure he has visited many foreign countries including the USA, UK, Austria, Germany and India.
