Goal
To provide basic literacy and numeracy education to working children aged 8–14 years in hard-to-reach areas and enhance their opportunities for personal development, social participation and a better future.
Objective
- - To provide basic literacy and numeracy skills to working children aged 8–14 years who have limited or no access to formal education.
- - To improve the reading, writing and basic mathematical skills of participating working children through appropriate non-formal education approaches.
- - To create opportunities for working children to continue their education and develop their knowledge, confidence and life skills.
- - To increase awareness among children and their families about the importance of education, child rights, health, hygiene and protection from harmful work environments.
- - To establish a child-friendly and flexible learning environment suitable for working children in hard-to-reach communities.
Major Activities
- - Community survey and identification of beneficiaries;
- - Establishment of Non-Formal Education Centers;
- - Recruitment and orientation of teachers;
- - Basic literacy and numeracy education;
- - Life skills and awareness education;
- - Parent/community involvement;
- - Monitoring and assessment;
- - Transition and linkage with formal education;
- - Documentation and reporting.
